Shoppers have the option to either shop using the online giant’s Just Walk Out technology but they now enter through a gateless opening, rather than the gated entrance on checkout-free stores. The refurbishment follows Amazon’s decision to introduce pay by card options in its newest Fresh stores in Monument and Croydon, which both opened in January. The store will close on 12 April when the retail giant will retrofit it to give customers the option to pay via debit and credit card. Amazon is to add pay terminals to its checkout-free Amazon Fresh store in Angel, London.
